Every winter in Invermere, BC, Canada, the lake is frozen and people turn it into a collection of skating and curling rinks, as well as a road that makes the drive to Windermere about 5 minutes instead of 15. Right in the middle of it are these benches where a warm drink and people watching go together.
If you go, please stick to the path laid out for driving...there have been a lot of vehicles hit the bottom when drivers don't know how to see thin ice from natural warm springs in the lake.
