Here's an honest moment.
Maybe it's because of the isolation...maybe because of the occasional shot of whiskey, maybe it's just the sheer aggravation of working my tail off,
and not seeing numbers change.
In a world of content overload, of big butts and boobs out-performing actual achievement in the media...
When a heavily over-edited image of a Kardashian arse out-weighs landing a probe on a moving comet, when someone twerking out-strips truly artistic work by a hundred-fold,
I'm not going to lie.
I'm aggravated.
So by all means, enlighten me.
One of my dad's favourite quotes was
'the most dangerous weapon you can give a fool is a typewriter'.
That is compounded and a thousand times more true now...
Give a fool access to the internet and an audience who thinks a completely uninformed opinion is perfectly valid (it is NOT), and fools will overrun the planet with their tripe.
And that's my two bits for the night.

Oh, I get it, more than you can know. Sometimes it can drive me crazy. Some people are not good artist but actually really know how to sell themselves. When I see what people want to purchase, I could be tempted to do the crazy color, everything happy and full of over saturation. But I tend to want to be myself and do what I love. And I know it is difficult and easy to say, but I think you have to do that too. Yes, you would sell more but you would start to hate what you do, because you do it because you love it and because you care and not just for a paycheck. They say do what you love and it will come back to you and make you successful, but more often than not, it will bite you in the butt. At the same time though, you can be proud of what you do and accomplish. I just know in my heart that doing the "popular thing" would not bring you happiness. And it's alright to get pissed off.
